Benefits of Stretching Everyday

Stretching yourself brings you maximum effort with effortless flow, aligning with spirit and purpose – Ron Broussard Stretching is more than a warm up or cool down in a fitness routine. Healthy mind and body benefit from regular stretching whether it consists of static, dynamic or both.  Start your day in a positive relaxed frame of mind with stretching and have a more relaxed sleep after evening stretches. Why should your stretch it out everyday? Stretching is just an awesome expansive practice for your body and mind, especially if you spend a lot of hours working on your laptop. You don’t need to do intensive stretching, yoga or pilates to benefit from stretching. Just let your body go with the flow of the day.  I find that stretching helped me a lot with my posture and freedom of movement. Both are fundamental for modeling and dancing that I love, but I also noticed changes in…

March Fitness Inspiration – My current workouts

Hey hey! March is here and I hope you are as motivated as I am! I was taking it easy with my fitness lately, so I decided to push my boundaries this month. Sometimes knowing that you can do more, is the best motivation. Knowing that you show up always feels great! Since you are all curious about my workout routines here’s some inspiration for March. Note that these workouts are customized around my needs and current goals and it’s not a workout plan, hence there is no Monday to Friday structure in the routines you’ll find below. It’s just ideas that you can try out! I like changing it up with my training and I go with the feel. Some days I go hard and some days I take it easy. Some days I improvise and some days I go according to the plan. FYI I’m training in a…

A More Human Fitness

In our day to day life we come across numerous theories about dieting and workouts. Most of these are based on science and observation. Some are just another fad and nothing more that a well-marketed idea. Regardless, I find that all of these methods don’t take into account something extremely important: The human factor! Fitness is one of the sciences studying the human body, however I find that our knowledge to date is far behind. This statement not only comes from a strong believer of science, but also from a person who after spending most of my life training, I came to a greater understanding that there are much more about our bodies, than plain statistics. Functions and connections which science hasn’t found yet, proved or demystified. Our minds or phycology would be one of these unexplored areas. I prefer naming these “intuitive” or you can just name it “unpredictable…

My Top 5 Lean Secrets

Many of my friends say that life is not fair, when they look at me eating a whole pizza, while they really struggle to maintain a lean figure eating tiny portions of food and punishing themselves with dieting. They tell me that I’m lucky and the truth is I feel blessed in a way. I’ve always been a calories burning machine tending to lose weight easily (don’t hate me!). Being by default lean, I never had to worry about gaining weight really. I used to think that I’m just this kind of person that I can eat as much as I can, and I was just taking it for granted. I haven’t realized until recently what was the secret of my success, I never thought about it much. Definitely I don’t eat pizza every day! I do enjoy good nutritious food and I eat a lot, but I also train…

The New Born Fitness

I started being skeptical lately about what do social media convey as a message around female fitness. As an Instagrammer observing the social media world, I feel that there is something largely missing from the picture. Let’s face it! Fitness from the time I started training to date had a big shift. Social media undoubtedly raised awareness about fitness lifestyle. More women these days have a basic understanding of the benefits around healthy living, training and eating smarter. We now find women being stronger, lifting heavy weights and loving an athletic body. We have the knowledge to shape our bodies the way we like it. We see that many women feel great about themselves and that training is a daily confidence and mood booster. Why it shouldn’t? We moved away from the old stereotype of maintaining a good figure based solely on dieting and that’s really refreshing! While I see…

How did I fall in love with Fitness

When I first started having a systematic fitness routine not many women were focusing on weights training at that time. Fitness wasn’t a craziness like these days and social media were just on their beginning. (Yes! That was a very long time ago!) I still remember my first time at the gym, when a good looking and friendly personal trainer (allocated by the gym) orientated me. He showed me a few exercises to start with and gave me a weekly workout plan after discussing about my goals. I felt that I had to stick with it, just because I didn’t want to disappoint my trainer. ???????? I was quite in bliss at that stage, yet I had so much work to do! I grew up at a place that gyms and training facilities were not available. I was always incline towards fitness and I was secretly aspiring to pursue this…

Rediscover the now with Yin Yoga

In today life’s rhythms, somehow stillness and quiet disappear as life roars on. My daily routine often looks this way as I rush from one place to another, from one project to the other. Of course, I am passionate about what I do and the life I live. I love seeing projects and ideas moving fast. I’m eager to learn and explore something new. Still, nothing matches the bliss that comes with my Yin Yoga routine. This is my calm in an otherwise busy life; my moment to reflect on who I am, where I am going, and what I have done. Yin Yoga is a practice that teaches me to slow down and listen, observe and resurface hidden emotions. What is Yin Yoga Yin Yoga is a style of yoga comprising a selection of postures deemed to be more “passive” since you would hold those poses for a significant…
